FCHS 80: AUTOMATION WHICH WORKS FOR MEDIUM PRODUCTION VOLUMES

The FCHS 80 from Poly-clip System is a clipping/hanging machine for smaller and medium production volumes. This machine combination incorporates the process steps of clipping, looping, hanging and placing on the smoke stick. Automatic operation means that increases in productivity from 15 to 20% are possible with a simultaneous manpower saving of one worker.

Increasing productivity, saving on manpower

The aim of incorporating four process steps in a single machine combination is to increase productivity while reducing the necessary manpower resources. And this aim is more than achieved with the new FCHS 80 clipping/hanging machine. It very efficiently combines clipping and simultaneous looping with automatic hanging and subsequent placing on the smoke stick. This clipping/hanging machine reliably and continuously processes up to 40 loops per minute (depending on the product and process) in the calibre range from 38 to 65 mm.

The clipping unit of the FCHS 80 may also alternatively be used as a standalone clipping machine for products in the calibre range up 105 mm. This offers high flexibility in production. With some manual intervention it can be uncoupled and the FCA can produce large calibres and rings. The sausage clipper has a special separator factory-optimised for the FCHS 80. The FCHS 80 may optionally be fitted with a loop end sensor, and can be combined with the ES 5000 for product labelling and tracing.

During the development of the clipping/hanging machine, particular attention was paid to the use of simple technology, to low space requirement and to high efficiency. Control occurs via a controller board, the machine drive control via a servo frequency converter. A further positive feature is the machine’s hygienic design – it is made from stainless steel and offers optimal access for rapid and especially thorough cleaning. Thus the FCHS 80 is maintenance- and service-friendly with few wear parts.

Technical Operational Details

The machine works with smoke sticks from 800 to 1,000 mm in length which are suitable for automation. The minimum single weight per loop/sausage is 0.2 kg, the maximum single weight 1.5 kg. Chains may be a maximum of 650 mm in length, single chubs up to 500 mm (each including the loop and depending on the calibre). The smoke stick magazine is loaded manually from the front. Depending on the product calibre, between 6 and 20 loops can be positioned on each smoke stick. There is a discharge buffer for 6 loaded smoke sticks. The automatic product hanging allows continuous, uninterrupted production with all advantages on time savings and/or increased output.
